The Orchard in Moldova

Our orchard thrives in Moldova’s scenic landscapes - the best place for cultivating exceptional walnuts.

Favourable climate

Moldova's favourable climate and black soil 'chernozem', which is recognized as one of the most fertile in the world, ensure unique qualities of the walnut.

Agricultural heritage

Moldova's rich agricultural heritage and knowledge, rooted in centuries of farming traditions, fertile soil and favorable climate have positioned it as a renowned agricultural centre, known for its quality harvest and dedication to sustainable farming practices.

Strategic location

The orchard is situated in the northern part of Moldova, which is the least arid and most favorable region in terms of climate for cultivating walnuts. Positioned atop a hill, the orchard benefits from excellent air circulation due to the prevailing winds.

History of the orchard

In 2016, a group of like-minded individuals, driven by a shared purpose to create something meaningful and valuable, chose to dedicate themselves to the cultivation of noble walnut trees with a rich history and highly nutritious walnuts.

The beautiful country of Moldova, located in southeastern Europe and renowned for its agricultural heritage, rich soil, and favorable climate, has been selected as the ideal location. Moldova's black soil, also known as 'chernozem', is recognized as one of the most fertile in the world, guaranteeing unique rich taste and other organoleptic qualities of the walnut.

Committed to ensuring the highest quality of walnuts, we prioritise responsible land management to preserve the region's natural beauty and contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector.

Walnut Varieties

We have selected three exceptional varieties - a unique Moldovan variety, alongside two others widely acknowledged as some of the finest worldwide.

Chandler

Chandler walnuts are renowned for their exceptional taste, large size and light, creamy texture. They have high oil content and a distinct flavor. Their long shelf life and excellent storage properties make them a preferred choice.

Fernor

Fernor walnuts are known for their exceptional taste and texture, high kernel-to-shell ratio, uniform size, distinct flavor, satisfying crunch, and excellent nutritional value. These qualities make them favored choice.

Peschansky

Peschansky walnuts are a unique Moldovan variety. While their yield is lower, they have a significantly more flavorful taste. The kernel-to-shell ratio is higher than that of all other varieties. These walnuts stand out with their excellent quality, unique flavor, large size, and creamy texture. Their high oil content and storage properties make them the preferred choice.
